IoTSec Australia Thought Leaders Series - Patrick Dunstan, Head of Security - Seqwater

We're excited to announce our next in the thought leaders series is Patrick Dunstan, Head of Security at Seqwater. OT/ICS security is quickly becoming a challenge for the traditional IT security teams and although there are similarities between the two, there are also vast differences in approaches which mean the maturity of OT/ICS security programs, methodologies and approaches some time lag from the traditional IT security. We'll discuss today with Patrick Dunstan, Head of Security at Seqwater with oversight over both IT and OT/ICS security the challenges and opportunities in terms of risk management frameworks and methodologies.

In this role, Patrick is responsible for the overall direction of cyber security at Seqwater, and he has oversight over both IT and OT/ICS security. Patrick leads a dedicated team of technical security specialists that cover security operations, security architecture and cyber risk management across both IT and OT/ICS.

Patrick is an advocate for secure-by-design and risk-driven methodologies, and is a strong advocate of the SABSA Security Framework. Patrick is currently working on his SABSA Master’s paper which examines the role of human bias and its effects on security decision making and security design.
